Our support of Navy athletics is inspired by Tilley’s founder and our organization’s proximity and connection to the United States Naval Academy campus in Annapolis.
David Hughes Tilley, Founder and Baltimore native, was a naval officer in WWII attached to the Marine Corps and fought in the Battle of Saipan. A veteran and chemist by education, the GI Bill allowed him to start his own business in chemical distribution in 1952. Today, Tilley Distribution is a third-generation business serving customers worldwide.
Tilley provides technical support and ingredients in a variety of specialty markets, but our lubricant heritage remains strong. We’re an Authorized Mobil Distributor and have earned a place in ExxonMobil’s Circle of Excellence. Our sponsorship of Navy athletics is an outstanding opportunity to support the Academy and its future officers.
